What surprised me most about this book was how good of a writer Clapton is. I very much enjoyed how Clapton was able to put into words so much of what he had experienced and felt, in such a way, that I could comprehend what was going on very easily.

Stephen King wrote this amazing review about the book in the NY Times. The review is a tough read for any language learner, but well wroth it.

I've almost finished the book and I must say, Clapton manages to put all the rock n' roll stereotypes I know into context. It's almost like a really cool history book, looking back at the roots of the British Rock n' Roll explosion.

Was mich an diesem Buch am meisten überrascht hat, ist, wie gut der Schriftsteller Clapton ist. Es hat mir sehr gefallen, wie Clapton so viel von dem, was er erlebt und gefühlt hat, in Worte fassen konnte, dass ich das Geschehen sehr leicht nachvollziehen konnte.

Stephen King schrieb diese erstaunliche Rezension über das Buch in der NY Times. Die Rezension ist für jeden Sprachschüler eine schwierige Lektüre, aber sie ist sehr zornig.

Ich bin fast mit dem Buch fertig, und ich muss sagen, dass Clapton es schafft, alle mir bekannten Rock n' Roll-Klischees in einen Zusammenhang zu bringen. Es ist fast wie ein wirklich cooles Geschichtsbuch, das auf die Wurzeln der britischen Rock n' Roll-Explosion zurückblickt.
